Aoife Kelly and Aine O'Gorman were awarded with Young Player Of The Year and Player Of The Year honours respectively at Rovers Annual Player Awards which took place at The Maldron Hotel last night.

Midfielder Kelly may be under appreciated for her class and talent across the league as a whole, but those in Dublin 24 don't sleep on the technical prowess that the number 8 posseses in spades.

Playing 2363 minutes for The Hoops in 2024, the Carlow native has been at the heart of Rovers revival since their first League win against BOHS at Dalymount.

Kelly's deft footwork and relentless work ethic makes the eighteen year old a player Rovers will be keen to secure for their 2025 campaign.

A worthy winner and one to watch, Kelly has too excelled on the international stage for the Republic of Ireland and can excel in both defence and attack.

Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist in August after Ireland's Under 19's Euro 2024 exit in Lithuania, Kelly reflected, "It was such a good experience playing against Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, the best teams in Europe. It was just a great experience playing against these players."

(No doubt it was too for your opponents Aoife!)

Covering every blade of grass across her 2554 minutes played this year, skipper Aine O'Gorman was justly recognized for her grit, determination and skill at the Rovers awards ceremony - receiving the nod for Player of The Year.

Bagging eight league goals this campaign, the 119 time capped former Irish international was a key player for The Hoops, rousing the Tallaght tiki takas when they went a goal behind via magnificent moments of set piece magic.

The number 13 may be unlucky for some but not for the Tallaght faithful.

Hoops fans can only hope that the fan favourite does not follow in Shankill phenom Steph Zambra's footsteps and hang up her boots just yet...
